Remember

by John Birmingham

How far that fire has become that once warmed the face of an eager heart.
Far away as the gaze that descends through it's layers.
...leaving only to be led by it , to read the tale it weaves behind the curtain of flames.
Deep within the soothing coals, It unfolds to spill out all thought.
Making room for the Silent to bathe in comfort.
Returning the mind to the Spirit for awhile. It releases the hold of the Now and begins to escape through you like so many years.
We remember so little.
Moments, each with their moat surrounding, made up from all the rest we'd forgotten.
There is a pasture so vast awaiting the last recognized act.
Growing only. Grow it slowly.
